John Curry was involved in the financial affairs of companies listed on the Australian Stock Exchange as Finance Director and Company Secretary for over thirty years until his retirement  in 1998.

He was a Director of the Australian Shareholders’ Association for seven years - Chairman for two years and Deputy Chairman for two years. He is currently a spokesman for the ASA.

He was a member of the Victorian Legislation Review Board for three years. The board was established by accounting bodies to review and advise on legislation in respect of commercial law, corporate governance, financial reporting and auditing matters.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, is a Fellow of the Certified Practising Accountants and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries.

He has owned property in Apollo Bay for eight years and is the Public Officer for “Friends of the Cape Otway Light Station.” He is Honorary Treasurer for the Apollo Bay &District Health Foundation.
